- Associate/Assistant Professor Term - Dental Hygiene
Description
The Department of Diagnosis and Oral Health, Dental Hygiene Program, at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry (ULSD) is seeking qualified applicants for an Associate/Assistant Professor Term faculty position. This is a full-time faculty appointment, with flexibility to align to a 10-month or 12-month academic term. This is a non-tenure track, non-tenurable position. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
Dental hygiene license or eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
Two years of clinical experience in dental hygiene or related field
Current knowledge of clinical dental hygiene
Preferred Qualifications:
A master’s degree in dental hygiene or related field
Five years of clinical experience in dental hygiene or related field
Previous academic experience
Previous experience in laboratory, pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic teaching
Evidence of mentoring students of all levels
Evidence of continuing education/methodology coursework
Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills
Responsibilities Include:
Clinical instruction with limited didactic instruction of Dental Hygiene Students
Ensure that instruction meets or exceeds standards established by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation
Uphold expected standards of professionalism, quality, and ethics and in so doing serves as a role model for students
Attend regularly scheduled department meetings
Participate in training, development, and calibration sessions
Clinic coordination, including management of rotation schedules, both internal and external clinic sites
Limited travel to satellite dental facilities within the ULSD system to administer and supervise the clinical activities of students within the Dental Hygiene Program may be needed
Other responsibilities may include limited committee and community service appointments
