Summary of Job Responsibilities:
Full-time faculty position at either the Assistant/Associate/Professor level in the clinical educator track in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Individuals must be board certified/board eligible in the subspecialty of nephrology and have recognized expertise in clinical care, teaching, and research. Duties to include care of private patients in the outpatient clinic setting, with some service in the continuity clinics at Jackson Memorial Hospital possible. Also includes coverage of inpatient consult coverage in multiple hospital venues, weekend on-call services, and dialysis unit attending. He/she will participate in the educational and training activities of the nephrology and medicine programs, providing teaching of fellows, residents, and medical student at conferences, in clinic, and inpatient and dialysis units as necessary.
Outline of additional responsibilities include but are not Limited to:
· Independent coverage of inpatient consults and concurrent care at JMH and UMH
· Provide care to dialysis patients on contracted dialysis units
· Will be assigned evening, weekend and holiday call proportionate to other physicians
· Teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students as necessary
· Will be assigned proportionate level outpatient clinics at UHealth locations
Qualifications:
· MD Degree and ACGME US Internal Medicine Internship and Residency
· Completed 2-year ACGME US Nephrology Fellowship
· Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology (or board eligible)
· Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)
· Valid DEA licensure
· Current ACLS and BLS certification required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Completion of US ACGME 2-year nephrology fellowship
· Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
· Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
