Wright State University, an urban research university with a strong culture of innovation located in Dayton, Ohio, is accepting applications to fill one position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Finance. This tenure-track position is scheduled to start August 1, 2026. Specialties most desired are financial management, international finance, financial analytics, financial engineering, behavioral finance and financial planning, but all areas will be considered. Salary and benefits for this tenure-track position is highly competitive. Applicants will be expected to teach assigned courses, conduct research and scholarly activities, engage in service to the university and community and participate in department, college and university committee work. The normal teaching load is six 3-semester-hour courses per academic year. Summer teaching for additional compensation may be available during a compressed six-week summer session.

The Raj Soin College of Business (http://business.wright.edu) is one of eight colleges within the University. It is AACSB accredited and enrolls approximately 1,500 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students, offering a comprehensive business program to a diverse student body. The college has enjoyed quality rankings in a variety of its programs and has a strong record of impact for both students and the business community. The School of Finance, Accountancy, Management Information Systems, and Economics offers majors in both Finance and Financial Services. The finance major further encourages students to select a concentration from general finance, investments, and business analytics. We are part of the University Affiliation Program of the CFA Institute and our financial services program has been registered with the Board of CFP since 1986.
The campus is located in a beautiful 557-acre wooded setting in suburban Dayton, Ohio. The Dayton region, with a population of nearly 1,000,000, is a very livable and affordable city with numerous arts and cultural opportunities (e.g. www.cultureworks.org; http://www.activedayton.com/) and a strong business community. The area is home to many organizations with an international reach, especially in areas of defense, healthcare, science, and business services. The region has been known for an entrepreneurial spirit and is the birthplace of many significant inventions and innovations and remains an active region for small businesses. In addition, the cities of Columbus and Cincinnati, each with metropolitan areas of more than 2,000,000 people, are less than 70 miles away from our campus.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess outstanding teaching skills. The candidate must show potential for scholarly productivity and willingness to provide university and community service. Requirement:
A Ph.D. in hand or in progress to be completed no later than September 1, 2026
Excellent communication skills
Preference will be given to those with extraordinary teaching as evidenced by two years of college-level teaching with strong teaching evaluations, strong computer skills, experience delivering online courses, and the ability to collaborate with faculty on research.
