Description
Position SummaryThe Prosthodontics department in the Indiana University School of Dentistry is seeking qualified applicants for our tenure-track faculty position. This will be a 12-month appointment at the rank of assistant professor at 1.0 FTE , with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
TEACHING AND LEADERSHIP THAT IMPROVES LIVES
Our new faculty member will come with proven expertise in all aspects of prosthodontics, ready to build upon the school's and campus's tradition of excellence, advancing scholarship, education, clinical service, and community engagement. Proven expertise in digital methodologies and workflows in prosthodontics, including how those are implemented in didactic, preclinical, and clinical instruction as well as scholarly activity.
Additionally, our new faculty member will have a record of creating an environment that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and inclusion among members of various education, research, and service communities. Consistent with our school's core values, this candidate will demonstrate commitment to serve as a role model and advocate for the ideals of professionalism and high ethical standards in a health science educational setting. Engagement in university service at the department, school, and university levels, including participation in departmental and school governance is expected.
You will make a difference weekly by providing preclinical, clinical, and didactic instruction to predoctoral dental students, participating in competency assessments, applying and shaping a comprehensive and robust predoctoral curriculum using state-of-the-art and emerging technologies. Teaching responsibilities may also include course directorship(s). In fulfilling those deliverables, a focus on developing collaboration within and beyond the dental school, and a sustained record of scholarship activities is expected. Our department's research enterprise naturally includes the fields of education, clinical patient care, dental materials, and implantology. Albeit in a limited capacity, you also might have opportunities to participate in the postdoctoral prosthodontic curriculum in the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. Faculty practice and other revenue-generating opportunities will be considered for eligible candidates.
