Description
The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications from broadly trained vertebrate physiologists for a different tenure-track position to begin Fall 2026. Appointment at the rank of assistant professor is likely, but qualified candidates may be considered for a higher rank.
The duties in this role include:
- Teach an advanced course in the candidate’s area of specialty, introductory and capstone courses in our innovative research-focused curriculum, and direction of and instruction in vertebrate anatomy and physiology courses for biology and pre-health.
- Utilize active engaging, pedagogies in the classroom.
- Develop an active research program engaging undergraduate students.
Salary Range:
The budgeted salary range for this position is:
- Assistant: 62,000-67,000
- Associate: 72,000-78,000
- Professor: 83,000-88,000

Requirements
Basic Qualifications: Required at the time of application.
- Ph.D. in physiology, cellular/molecular/integrative physiology, comparative physiology, or related field; postdoctoral experience desired.
- Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
