Description
The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Toledo seeks to fill one or more 9-month tenure track Assistant
Professor(s) in the field of Interdisciplinary Data Science. We are particularly interested in people with a background in astro-statistics
computational biochemistry, and automated bio-imaging. The College has research strengths in astronomy and astrophysics and cell
architecture and dynamics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active, independent, externally funded research
program that uses data science techniques, such as machine learning, data mining, artificial intelligence, or other big data techniques. A
PhD. in physics, astronomy, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or closely related fields is required. Postdoctoral experience or equivalent is
strongly preferred. Excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in astronomy, biochemistry, or biology as well as data
science is expected, and candidates should plan to involve both graduate and undergraduate students in their research program. The
new faculty member will be expected to substantially contribute to and lead the development of new academic programs and revision of
existing programs to best meet the needs of University of Toledo students.

24, 2026.

Requirements
Ph.D. in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field. Applicants should have their PhD by the
anticipated start term which is Fall 2026.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants with postdoctoral experience are preferred.
